Valmet Converting has sold its first sheeter in Spain to Proembasa, located near Barcelona. The sheeter was sold against strong local competition and also from other leading European sheeter manufacturers.
Proembasa is a privately owned company and was established in 1979. The company specializes in converting a wide range of board and paper for stationery, graphic arts, and cellular carton for fruit packaging and ‘honeycomb’ fillings for partitioning and construction.
Sr. Ramon Albareda, managing director at Proembasa comments, "I visited various sheeter manufacturers to compare the quality, performance, and prices prior to making the decision to purchase the new equipment from Valmet. One other important factor in favor of Valmet was the promise of technical support provided by the Valmet 24/7 customer service facility."
The Valmet CTS sheeter is a 1450 mm-wide machine with the facility to stack sheets to 1800 mm high, the co. notes. It’s equipped with four unwind stands with individual motorized roll and edge de-curling units and individual automatic web tension control systems. One of the unwind stations is equipped with a pressure type de-curling unit which is said to be suitable for converting the co.’s range of board materials.
