Morton Ackerman, founder and managing partner of M.S. Ackerman & Co. LLP and Ackerman Consulting Group LLC, and Larry Tillis, president of Tillis and Associates Inc., have purchased the minority interests of Safe-T LLC and Stop-it LLC. The two entities are manufacturers and suppliers of the Stop-it(TM) radio-controlled machinery stopping device. Ackerman and his partners, along with Larry and Loreen Tillis, previously purchased the majority interest of the company in 1997. The minority shares were purchased from Jim Williamson of Charlotte, North Carolina, who will devote his full attention to being president of Corrugated Management Systems, which facilitates the syndication of sheet feeders by independent boxmakers. Additionally, Ackerman and Tillis have announced that they have assigned Stop-it's worldwide corrugated industry sales and marketing rights to SUN Automation in Sparks, Maryland. "The product fits in well with our OEM range," said Ted Hartka, executive vice president of SUN Automation. "By taking it international, we certainly expect to expand its market potential."
