The Silva Brand of the Rigid Group Conversion Division (U.K.) recently won a 1996-97 supplier performance from Tetley GB Ltd., a beverage company. "The recognition of quality suppliers as part of the success of one's own business is among our core values. It is interesting, therefore, to know what it feels like to be at the receiving end, so to speak," said Antony Wilkenson, Silva's business director.

The criteria upon which Tetley assessed Silva and other members of its supplier base are delivery, labeling, administration, presentation, technical support and the number and handling of complaints. Silva's score was reportedly in excess of 97%.

Tetley GB has been running the award for 12 years. Norman MacLeod, Tetley's buying contract packaging manager said, "We set very high standards for our suppliers in both service and consistency. I am delighted that the Silva team has surpassed them, helping us to maintain our own level of service to our customers.
