Atlanta, Georgia-based Riverwood International has installed a 50-in. Western Express folder-gluer in its Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, facility. According to Gene Gwin, senior project manager for Riverwood's North American packaging operations, there were three reasons for choosing the Western Express. "The design of the feeder, the bottom glue pot and the compression section lend themselves to the kind of speeds we plan to run," he said. The gluer is designed and built by Western Slope Industries, Grand Junction, Colorado.
