Yuen Foong Yu Paper and Chung Hwa Pulp, two Taiwan-based paper and pulp producing companies, disclosed plans for a merger, to occur through an exchanging of shares. The merger, scheduled to take effect at the beginning of 2002, was a decision made to vertically integrate the paper maker and pulp producer.
