Peter Snyder has rejoined Harper/Love Adhesives Corp. in the newly created position of national accounts manager. A frequent speaker at TAPPI conferences, Snyder is recognized for his ability to simplify the comprehension of very complex formulas related to the adhesive bonding of corrugated, through the use of technologically advanced adhesives additives. He has also performed hundreds of on-site seminars for the firm's customers and co-suppliers during his previous 11-year employment with Harper/Love. His 20-year experience in corrugated adhesives includes technical field service, technical director, director of research and development and sales of both adhesives and adhesives mixing systems. Mike Bodary has been promoted to senior vice president of operations reporting to Dopaco president, Joe Villani. Manufacturing, operations support, operations planning and purchasing will report to Bodary. Prior to joining Dopaco in 1992, Bodary was employed by International Paper, Burger King and Chiquita Brands. Dave Dinius has been promoted to director of manufacturing/QSR for Dopaco, reporting to Bodary. He now has responsibility for the company's seven QSR plants in North America. He joined Dopaco in 1984 after having worked previously for Flashfold Carton. Jim Yocum has been promoted to director of design/graphics. He has 34 years of design experience, including 21 years with Dopaco. He has also held design positions with Paco Packaging, Metal Edge/Comly Gillam and Flour City Press Pack. Corn Products International Inc. has elected two new members to its board of directors. Guenther E. Greiner, president of International Corporate Consultancy LLC, and Ronald M. Gross, chairman and CEO of Rayonier Inc., were selected to join the board, bringing the number of directors to 11. Greiner, 59, has more than 33 years of experience in international banking. He founded International Corporate Consultancy. Gross, 64, is chairman and CEO of Rayonier Inc., a global supplier of specialty pulps, timber and wood products located in Stamford, Connecticut. Stu Woodring has joined Temboard as its Midwest Regional Sales Manager (USA) for the linerboard division. Woodring, who worked previously with Republic Paperboard and Jefferson Smurfit, has more than 25 years of experience in the paperboard and packaging industry. Woodring will handle sales of Temboard's line of bleached coated linerboard products in the Midwest. Kevin J. Scherer has been appointed manager of Longview Fibre's Twin Cities container plant in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He brings with him corrugated container production management, maintenance, engineering and quality control experience from Longview's Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Rockford, Illinois, plants. Scherer joined Longview in 1993 as a quality technician and later became project engineer, then advanced to plant maintenance supervisor and later was promoted to facility manager. Caraustar Industries Inc. has appointed Barry A. Smedstad as its corporate director of human resources. His related business career started in 1976 with Container Corporation of America at its Fernandina Beach, Florida, paper mill as employee relations manager. He later joined Federal Paper Board Co. in 1985 as director of labor and employee relations. In 1997, Smedstad joined Box USA as vice president of human resources where he had responsibility for all human resource activities. Lee Holmes has joined the company as vice president and general manager of Austell Box Board Corp., Mill #2. Holmes' career in the paper industry includes management positions with Container Corporation of America and Gaylord Container. He held positions of increasing management responsibility including mill manager and general manager, respectively. Richard McDonald has been named product business manager of Bobst Registron Equipment. McDonald, who brings with him extensive sale and technical experience with web-fed presses and electronics, will oversee the promotion of Bobst Registron products in North America. Anderson & Vreeland has appointed Scott S. Laurin to the new position of national accounts manager. He will coordinate sales and service of the company's flexo plate processing equipment and materials to national accounts throughout the United States. Laurin brings to his position more than 18 years of graphic arts experience. He rejoins the company after working as a marketing specialist for a graphic arts firm with ties to the flexo industry. Laurin originally joined the company in 1982 as a technical sales representative and then served as a regional manager and assistant national sales manager.
