MacDermid Graphic Arts has named two new technical sales representatives. Randy Reynolds will be responsible for parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. During his 17-year career, he has been responsible for managing and maintaining research and development programs for flexo and dry offset narrow web label printing presses. Jack Abner will cover Ohio, Northern Kentucky and West Virginia. He previously served as a narrow web production supervisor and has been involved in folding carton and corrugated packaging sales for more than 12 years.

Brad Feller has joined H.G. Weber Inc. as director of engineering. He brings more than 14 years of experience in engineering management functions in the paper converting industry, including project management, production engineering, research and development and customer training.

Borden Chemical Inc. announced that Jim Smith will represent the line of printing inks produced by the coatings and graphics group for corrugators and other package printers. He will be responsible for Virginia, North Carolina and the eastern half of South Carolina. Smith has held a variety of production and technical sales positions in his 30 years of experience in the corrugated and graphic arts industries.

Timothy Malloy has been promoted to operations manager for the West Chester, Pennsylvania, manufacturing facility of Sartomer Co. He will manage day-to-day activities, including shipping and receiving and wastewater treatment operations. The company also promoted Robert Costagliola to plant manager of the facility. He will be responsible for the efficient and safe production of liquid monomers and will promote teamwork within the plant.

Jessica Stone has joined Marketing Support Inc. (MSI) as an account supervisor. She will assume responsibility for current MSI clients and will assist with new business development. Stone most recently served as a national advertising specialist at Jacobson Rost Advertising.

George Gordon Associates Inc. has named Paul Fox sales manager for the company's Layer Pac(TM) line of equipment. Fox previously served with Duo-Fast Northeast and brings knowledge of pallet and crate design and construction, carton sealing processes and corrugated and paperboard manufacturing.

National Starch and Chemical Co. has appointed Randolph Holme divisional vice president of starch manufacturing for the Americas. He will be responsible for the overall operation of starch manufacturing plants in Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Akzo Nobel Inks has appointed Peter Mulheran as president of its North American operation. He will be responsible for developing and bolstering the company's interests in North America. Mulheran was president of Werneke and Mulheran (WMI) until the acquisition of the Werneke Companies by Akzo Nobel Inks in 1998. He has spent the last two years overseeing the integration of personnel, the relocation of equipment and the changes to working practices at the Akzo Nobel Inks regional offices and Minnesota facility. The company has also appointed Russell Joyce as regional manager for its Norwegian, Eastern European, Middle Eastern and African sales and customer support operations. He will oversee the expansion of the company's interests to strengthen its presence in these countries.

Alan Hughey has joined Schmid Corp. as Southwestern and Midsouth sales manager. He has more than 13 years of graphic arts experience and will be active in the graphic finishing machinery market.

Gerald Eddens, president of Magnetic Power Systems Inc. since 1981, has announced his retirement. He has been with the company since 1970, when he joined as a partner and project engineer. He also served as chief engineer before assuming the company's top management position. Jeff Hutchings, sales and marketing manager, was promoted to vice president and general manager and will take over daily operations of the company.

Jim Pittas has joined the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute as director of expositions. He will direct the production and operation of the Pack Expo brand of tradeshows. Pittas previously worked for VNU Expositions, where he held a variety of positions including trade show manager and operations manager.

Marc Shore, president of Shorewood Packaging, has been named an officer of International Paper. He began his career in 1976 as an account executive for Shorewood of California and was named chairman and CEO in 1996. He is a member of the Consumer Packaging Lead Team of International Paper.

Performance Packaging Inc. has hired Silas Newland and Bill Parks as sales representatives and has promoted Rod Heath to vice president of sales and marketing.

Jagenberg Papiertechnik GmbH has merged management positions at its winder and sheeter units and has named Walter Reiter and Albert Stitz to head the units. Reiter has been with the winder unit since 1999 and will be in charge of sales. Stitz has been with the company since 1995 and will head the engineering and R&D for both winders and sheeters.

Mitch Dudek has joined Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses as business development coordinator for sheetfed presses. In the newly created position, he will be responsible for establishing business relationships with new clientele, implementing the company's development strategy and handling special sales development projects.

Michael Sullivan has joined Fosber America Inc. as Western region sales manager. He will also be providing support in the South central states.

Gerald Lucidi, general manager of Marsden Inc., has accepted the position of first vice chair of programs for the Delaware Valley Local Section of The Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI).

Ken Barksdale has been appointed director of software development for Intelligent Machine Control Inc. He brings more than 14 years of software experience, including government defense contracts and software specific to the corrugated industry.

Patrick Ayers has joined Datacolor International senior account manager. He will be responsible for the coordination and customer support for the company's Color Information Management System, CIMS(TM), as well as working on major retail accounts.

Bart Koney, executive vice president of the packaging group at Inland Paperboard and Packaging Inc., has been appointed first vice chairman of The Fibre Box Association.

Borden Chemical's coatings and graphics group has named Jim Smith to represent its line of printing inks in Virginia, North Carolina and the eastern half of South Carolina. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the corrugated and graphic arts industries, including production and technical sales positions.

Sartomer Co. has appointed Jack Sheth as technical consultant. He brings more than 35 years of experience in the radiation curing industry, most recently as business manager of radiation cured coatings and resins for Alex C. Fergusson Inc.

Grafix North America has named Keith Tap vice president of technical services. In the newly created position, Tap will be responsible for providing practical solutions on a range of issues including the complete system integration of the Grafix product line.

Double E Co. has appointed Reimund Brettschneider as vice president of international sales and marketing. He had previously served as vice president of sales for Will-Pemco. The company also named Randy Lorenz as OEM sales manager. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the web processing industry.

Econo Products has appointed Gregg Loring as regional sales representative. He will be responsible for all Econo products sales and customer relations in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska.

Anderson & Vreeland Inc. has appointed Steve Chitnis technical sales representative. He will provide technical sales and service support for southern California, Arizona and Nevada.

Harris Waste Management Group Inc. has hired Richard Mitchell as regional sales manager for its non-ferrous division. He will work with the company's distributor network and will be responsible for vertical, horizontal and two-ram baler sales in the Midwest, New England and Eastern Canadian regions. The company also hired Alvaro Medeiros as sales manager for the Latin American market. He had previously represented Harris as an independent agent in Brazil through his company Metallum Encore and was hired to expand the marketing and sales efforts throughout Latin America.

William Lindsay has been promoted to manager of kraft converter sales for Longview Fibre Co. He will be responsible for overseeing sales of kraft paper and linerboard for packaging and other specialty applications throughout the United States and Canada. He most recently served as paper sales representative in the Pacific Northwest and multiwall products specialist.

The Composite Can and Tube Institute has announced the election of its officers for the fiscal year 2000-2001. Those elected to executive positions include: Stuart Seltman of Crescent Paper Tube, president; John Lea of Design Tubes Co., senior vice president; George Langstaff of Smurfit-Stone Container Corp., treasurer; and Jim Russell of Caraustar, vice president.
