Maschinenfabrik Max Kroenert GmbH & Co., Hamburg, Germany has acquired Bachofen & Meier AG, Bulach, Switzerland, from Jagenberg AG, Neuss, Germany. Bachofen & Meier AG is a supplier of machinery to the paper/board, film, and foil converting industry, and will continue operating as a stand-alone enterprise within the Kroenert organization trading under its name BMB.

The integration of BMB into the Kroenert group of companies (incorporating Kroenert Corp., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, US and Dytec Trocknungs- und Befeuchtungstechnik GmbH & Co., Hamburg-Norderstedt) enables Kroenert and BMB as a whole to serve the global markets more intensively and with a wider range of products.

The core businesses of both Kroenert and BMB will be machinery, complete lines or single components for coating and laminating of paper, plastic film and aluminum foil for the converting and flexible packaging industries, and coating machinery in the area of paper and board finishing. Kroenert and BMB will continue operating out of its existing locations in order to maintain and utilize existing structures, up-to-date manufacturing facilities and highly qualified and motivated personnel. With BMB becoming part of the Kroenert group, it reportedly will take over a leading position as complete system supplier in specific market places around the world.
