Huhtamaki, a Finnish-based, global manufacturer of consumer packaging (including molded fiber products), has completed a transaction with Prospect Partners, LLC, selling its specialized U.S. fruit packaging division.

The outfit, located in Wenatchee, WA, USA, has annual sales of approximately US$17 million and produces mostly apple trays from molded fiber. Huhtamaki explained the sale as part of a divestment strategy to focus more intently on its other packaging units in North America.
