In line Web Press

The ProGlide MSP in line web press is said to reduce workplace injury and increase productivity while maintaining OSHA's guidelines. Individual print station components and die cassettes are capable of being moved in and out of the press area with ease, in addition to offering lightweight press parts. At the unwind end, a ramp is available just below the roll so that it may be rolled to the floor, eliminating the necessity for lifting. Print stations are equipped with stop buttons, and a remote control web viewing station eliminates the need to reach across the moving web, offering further safety to the operator. For more information, call (636) 532-4433 or e-mail msulliva@markandy.com. — Mark Andy Comco

Thermal Transfer Ribbons

The compatibility of 15 thermal transfer ribbons have been tested with Raflatac label substrates, ranging from uncoated paper to mid-range synthetics. Evaluated for criteria such as scratch and smudge resistance, fine-line resolution, graphics clarity, color and near edge printing capability, in each instance, a thermal transfer ribbon or Signature Series(trademark) wax, wax/resin or color wax ribbon produced high quality images and scannable barcodes. The tests were conducted in order to check the thermal transfer ribbon solutions for almost every variable labeling application. Introducing the MSP sheeter, designed for short run sheet fed printers. The MSP Sheeter converts rolls of paper or board to press ready sheets 11 to 60-in. long. Upon reaching its maximum operating speed, the machine has the capacity to produce over 50,000 sheets per hour. Other features of this unit include microprocessor controls for quick size changeovers, digital electronic controls for precision, and the compact design requires little floor space.
