New York, New York Reinforcing its corporate commitment to the rapidly expanding Asian converting marketplace, Miller Freeman Inc., show organizers of Converting Machinery Asia, changed the trade show's name to CMM Asia following the show in Singapore in November. This change reflects the fact that CMM International, an exposition and conference for the global converting marketplace, CMM Japan, and other CMM events are now part of Miller Freeman Inc. Both groups are now working closely together to maintain the highest possible quality for their events. CMM Asia is held simultaneously with Corrugated Asia and, following the 1997 shows at the World Trade Centre in Singapore, both shows are to be held at the brand new exhibition center, Singapore Expo Centre. "Through Converting Machinery Asia, CMM Japan and a variety of other CMM sponsored seminars, CMM events now provide machinery and materials manufacturers with opportunities to reach converters throughout the entire Pacific Rim," explained Leo Nadolske, vice president of CMM Events. The potential offered by the Asia Pacific markets is piquing the interest in both American and European businesses that want to reach these growing Asian markets. Industry experts predict that by 2005, Asia Pacific will be the world's largest corrugated market, creating a promising outlook for companies hoping to enter or expand into these markets. Show organizers plan to hold a large-scale corrugated machinery show in Asia every four years (1999, 2003, etc.) while holding smaller-scale conference-focused events in the alternate odd years (1997, 2001, etc.). For 1999, running machinery will be exhibited at CMM Asia. 1997
