China's Guangxi Lipu Paper plans to change its production from testliner to all virgin fiber-based white top liner. The company cited aggressive testliner competition as the main reason for the switch. Guangxi also recognized a market opportunity with kraftliner production. Because the mill has premium access to virgin fiber, coupled with the fact that kraftliner customers rely heavily on imports, Guangxi has chosen to produce kraftliner instead. The startup of the 50,000 tonne/year papermachine has been delayed until September of this year.
