The Chilean president, Ricardo Lagos, inaugurated CMPC's new Procor waste-based corrugated PM. The US$100 million unit is expected to manufacture approximately 150,000-tonnes/year of testliner, white top liner, corrugating medium and gypsum board at the Puente Alto mill. However, CMPC plans to upgrade the unit within the next few years to boost output levels to 220,000-tonnes/year.

CMPC's machines will convert some of the materials and others will be sold on the Chilean market.
